Fern Mallis Hosts Michael Kors Event To Benefit The American Heart Association

Fern Mallis, the creator of New York Fashion Week, will host a shopping event at Michael Kors in Southampton on Saturday, May 10, from 1 to 4 PM to benefit the American Heart Association. Mallis will receive the American Heart Association Impact Award at the Heart of the Hamptons Sand & Style Soiree on Friday, June 27, at the Bridgehampton Tennis and Surf Club.

Mallis was instrumental in the creation and success of the Red Dress campaign, which raises awareness that heart disease is the number one killer of women and educates women to take care of their health by eating healthy, exercising routinely, and seeing their doctors regularly for preventive screenings and checkups.

Jessica Mackin, Co-Publisher and Editor of James Lane Post, will interview Fern during a talk at the event about her connection to the Red Dress campaign and Michael Kors’ involvement as one of the first designers to create a Red Dress for the inaugural fashion show in 2003.

Twenty percent of all sales will benefit the American Heart Association, Heart of the Hamptons Campaign. RSVP to Maylin Murphy at maylin.murphy@michaelkors.com.
