Uncommon Art Residence Program Continues At Sound View

Sound View in Greenport continues its Uncommon Art Residence Program. The hotel has invited a group of emerging artists, who live and work throughout the property during their residency, to be inspired by the North Fork.

Abstract action painter Noami Clark is in residence through March 17. An active painting activation will be held Thursday, March 16, from 1 to 2 PM, where guests can participate in Clark’s Sound View Action Painting. Clark uses various materials to activate her paintings in natural elements, in this case the Long Island Sound. Calling all polar bears, in this activation participants will venture into the water as a group. RSVP here. An artist talk with Clark will be held on Thursday, March 16, from 5 to 6 PM in front of the Halyard fireplace. From March 17 to 24, installation artist Karen Anavy, will be in residence. An artist open studio will be held on Wednesday, March 20, from 12 to 4 PM. Stop by Anavy’s pop-up studio on property in the Gathering room. Artist Franco Cuttica will be in residence March 24 to 31. An artist talk will be held on Thursday, March 30, from 5 to 6 PM. RSVP here.

Scott Bluedorn, a local multidisciplinary artist will be in residence April 1 to 7. An artist talk will be held on Tuesday, April 4, from 5 to 6 PM. RSVP here.
