The Clamshell Foundation will host its annual Sandcastle Contest at Atlantic Beach in Amagansett on Saturday, August 13, from 9 AM to 3 PM.
The foundation was started in 1992 by the late Rossetti Perchik to support the people, programs, and projects on the East End.
The first annual East Hampton Sandcastle Contest took place on August 26, 1992, and has since been an annual tradition. The Clamshell Foundation has partnered to provide funds to groups including the Montauk, East Hampton, Amagansett, Springs, and Sag Harbor Food Pantries, East End Cares, OLA of Eastern Long Island, Soul Grow, and Olman Sanabria, along with others.
The cost is $10 to register and groups of up to six can compete in a variety of different categories. T-shirts by year’s artist Justin Burkle will be available for $30.
