Parrish Art Museum Salon Series Presents Classical Musicians This Spring

This spring, the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill presents its popular Salon Series, featuring a lineup of award-winning musicians. The three-concert series promises uplifting Friday evening performances.

“We are thrilled to host this trio of concerts and all of these incredible musicians who offer our audiences meaningful and unforgettable musical experiences. My thanks to our amazing sponsors who share their love of music with all of us by making these wonderful events possible,” said Mónica Ramírez-Montagut, Executive Director of Parrish Art Museum.

The Salon Series kicks off on Friday, May 3, with Pegasus: the Orchestra, led by artistic director Karén Hakobyan. Under the guidance of artistic director and pianist Karén Hakobyan, Pegasus: the Orchestra presents a program focused on Rachmaninoff’s and Schubert’s vocal and chamber masterpieces. The full orchestra includes Sergey Antonov, Milad Daniari, Andrew Gonzalez, Karén Hakobyan, Eiko Kano, and Elisa Sunshine.

Louis K. Meisel, who originated the Salon Series over 10 years ago and has presented over fifty concerts since, continually supporting the events, artists, and after-events said he is thrilled to revive the series after a Covid lull and a quiet October 2023. Meisel said, “I have been part of approximately forty concerts a year and presented in many event spaces for the pure joy of doing so.”

Sandy and Stephen Perlbinder echoed this sentiment. Sandy said, “Steve and I are inspired by the extraordinary exhibits presented at the Parrish, and having a series like Louis Meisel’s Salon Series with such exceptional musicians in addition to the art adds an extra layer of enjoyment.”

On Friday, May 17, the Borisevich Duo, comprised of pianist Margarita Loukachkina and violinist Nikita Borisevich, will bring their acclaimed performances from stages across the globe to the Parrish Art Museum. Borisevich and Loukachkina are winners of numerous international music competitions and have collectively performed on world-renowned stages such as The Kennedy Center, Mozarteum University Salzburg, Grand Hall of Moscow Conservatory, Shriver Hall, California Institute of Technology, JCC Greater Washington and Manuel de Falla Auditorium, among others.

Concluding the spring season on Friday, May 31, the Sakura Duo, featuring pianists Jacopo and Maddalena Giacopuzzi, will mesmerize audiences with their dynamic four-hand piano arrangements, showcasing their international acclaim and virtuosity. Born in Verona, Italy, to a family of pianists, the dynamic brother-and-sister duo have toured internationally and won many prestigious awards and competitions.

All concerts begin at 6 PM. Tickets are $35 for members, $45 for adults, $40 for seniors, $20 for students, and $10 for children. Visit parrishart.org.
