Listed by Compass and sold by Saunders & Associates they both announced the sale of Dick Cavett’s Montauk home with a last asking price of $28.5 million. The home ultimately sold for $23.6 million, the highest trade in Montauk so far this year. The buyer was represented by Saunders & Associates brokers Krae Van Sickle and Lylla Carter.
The home, Tick Hall, is one of the iconic Seven Sisters in Montauk designed by Stanford White. The original home was built in 1882, and destroyed by fire in 1997. Cavett rebuilt it in accordance with its original design, after extensive research. The home seamlessly blends modern amenities with historic charm, providing 6,500+/- sq. ft. of living space with 6 bedrooms and 4 baths. Situated on the easternmost end of the area now known as the Montauk Association, the property includes 900 feet of ocean frontage and is adjacent to almost 200 acres of preserve. Wraparound porches capture the breathtaking views; a screened-in porch is especially delightful. Cavett owned the home for over 50 years.
