Iconic Modern Home has a unique process for interior design and staging luxury homes. In fact their motto is, “Trust The Process” because once your vision is explored, they are left alone to design and furnish the end-goal with no interruption from the client. Why the client would trust to this extent is because of the elevated and stunning design work of CEO, Geoffrey Walsky, a former finance guru turned mid-century modern dealer and lover embarked upon. His partner in the firm, Iconic Modern, is Teresa Kratzman, a former Wall Street executive turned marketing maven, who joined Walsky in 2016 as a consultant and is now the President, overseeing the process and delivering the design. You will hear a lot about the “process” because Modern Iconic requires their clients to trust it — and them.
One of Iconic Modern’s latest staging projects is 40 Lincoln Street in Sag Harbor, a home built by the Bank Development Group. Walsky explained, “The overall design aesthetic that was requested from the builder was to have natural elements like natural wood and stone. It has a slightly West Coast vibe with a Nordic feel to it, but with chic beach house contemporary to help round it out. We used neutral and natural element colors in upholstery, floor coverings, and accessories to marry with the natural wood and stone used on the walls, fireplace, and flat surfaces.”
Their process is in stages. They begin by meeting with each client on-site or at their Water Mill showroom. This allows them to assess the space and, most importantly, to establish a relationship with their client so as to gauge their vision. Then they work with them to craft a comprehensive design proposal. Once the design is settled on by the client, they are left alone to transform the space. Their proactive approach which requires a lot of trust allows them to solve problems and find the solutions to bring the vision to life.
With organic shapes and slatted base for the marble fireplace, the living room design melds naturally into the natural light flooding the room. “In this space we used iconic silhouettes from Jeannette and Eero Saarinen in natural tones, stone tops and black accents that match the homes permanent design features,” said Walsky.
Organic edges continue to the primary bedroom keeping matching the colors of the build’s natural woods in the cladding and flooring. Walsky continued, “For the primary bedroom we continued to use a natural pallet with natural fibers but added with luxe comfort linens and bedding, soft surfaces throughout, very contemporary, but also very warm and cozy.”
40 Lincoln Street in Sag Harbor is exclusively listed by James Peyton and the Mala Sander Team at Corcoran at $4.85M and all Iconic Modern staging products are for sale.
