Southampton Arts Center Celebrates Opening Of ‘Beyond the Present: Collecting for the Future’ Exhibition With The Christine Mack Art Collection

Southampton Arts Center celebrated the opening reception for The Christine Mack Art Collection’s “Beyond the Present: Collecting for the Future” exhibition on Saturday, July 26.

The opening, curated by award-winning art historian and founder of ArtMuse, Natasha Schlesinger, and Executive Director of Southampton Arts Center, Christina Mossaides Strassfield, welcomed over 400 guests, who sipped cocktails as they walked through the beautiful gallery space.

Christine has been an art collector for over 20 years and is fully committed to collecting diversely and expanding her collection beyond painting to include sculptural works in ceramics, bronze, and wood as well as textiles and glass. The human body has a strong focus in the collection, expressed through all mediums and representations, reflecting on our cultural moment and her own confidence in humanity.

Mack has built her dynamic collection by actively seeking out, meeting with, collecting, and supporting the young voices of our time. Her mission extends beyond collecting; she is deeply committed to nurturing these talents through mentorship, financial support, and the Mack Art Foundation Artist Residency.

After the exhibition opening, a small dinner was held in the theater with delicious dishes from Acquolina and cocktails from LALO tequila, OddBird non-alcoholic wine, and Entourage Rose Wine. The dinner was followed by a video, spotlighting the Mack Art Foundation and the work Christine Mack is doing for the art community.
