Inspired By Saunders’ Thanksgiving Drive That Raised $80,000 For Local Food Pantries, Here’s How You Can Help For The Holidays

Saunders & Associates held their 7th annual Thanksgiving Drive to support local food pantries throughout the East End. The powerhouse real estate brokerage seasonally collects donations of non-perishable food items in all five offices. The campaign, due to Covid, went online in 2020 through a GoFundMe effort, and continued there in 2021. It was wildly successful raising a total of $80,000, including the company’s matching donations, and will be distributed among eleven local food pantries to provide the community with food and other necessities.

According to the GoFundMe campaign, Saunders & Associates wrote:

“Every year beginning in 2014 Saunders & Associates holds a Thanksgiving food drive for local food pantries. In a typical year, our offices would be overflowing with donated canned goods and other nonperishable food items, which we delivered to local food pantries.

“This year we believe the safest thing to do is to raise money directly for our local food pantries. We’ve built this Go Fund Me page to accept monetary donations and will give every single dollar we collect to the food pantries in the Hamptons.

“Please donate! It’s a good cause and a simple way to support our local community, especially this year when so many are out of work. Please join Saunders’ agents and staff in supporting our community. Many people are food insecure in the Hamptons and no family in the Hamptons should ever go hungry.”

The need on the East End dramatically increased due to the ongoing pandemic. The community is a very giving one, and the need continues throughout the holidays. Here is a list of food pantries you can donate to:
