The East Hampton Historical Society announced that Sotheby’s International Realty will sponsor its “Free Admission Initiative,” which will enable the entire community – including local school groups – to visit its historic sites and museums free of charge.
“As we celebrate the Historical Society’s Centennial this year,” said Steve Long, Executive Director of the East Hampton Historical Society, “we are incredibly grateful to Sotheby’s International Realty for helping us reintroduce our historic places and remove barriers from visiting our sites.”
“Sotheby’s International Realty is thrilled to be the Exclusive Sponsor of the Historical Society’s Free Admission Initiative for the 2022 season,” said East Hampton Brokerage Manager Nanette Hansen. “Our company is steeped in history and heritage, so we feel the synergy is perfect, plus it’s a perfect way to give back to our community.”
While the Historical Society will open to the general public in May, local schools and teachers have begun scheduling field trips to the East Hampton Town Marine Museum, Moran Studio, Mulford Farm, and other Historical Society properties.
Said Stacy Myers, Education Director at the Historical Society, “It’s incredibly important to make it as easy as possible for students to learn about East Hampton’s history.”
