artGroove is a high energy multifaceted creative event. It celebrates individual artists by allowing the space to project their vision while connecting to the community, incorporating 2-D and 3-D visual art, music, and dancing.
The pop-up multi media event features the artwork of 18 contemporary artists including world renown sculptor Hans Van de Bovenkamp, and artists Christopher Lucore, Michael McDowell, and John Haubrick. An opening reception will be held Saturday, April 22, from 6 to 10 PM, at Ashawagh Hall in Springs.
From Italy, this year will be SignofSound with Fabiana Yvonne Lugli, a performance based on improvisation between various media — music, painting, video art, and dance.
Artists also include Beth Barry, Barbara Bilotta, Rosalind Brenner, Michael Cardacino, Nadine Daskaloff, Zoe Denahy, Patricia Feiwel, Jacques Leblanc, Geralyne Lewandowski, Joyce Riamondo, Cynthia Sobel, Lieve Theirs, and Rose Zelentz.
On Sunday, April 23, there will be an Afternoon Tea Dance and an art sale to benefit the Ellen Hermanson Foundation and Maureen’s Haven, complimented by the musical stylings of William Falkenburg. Each artist has attractively priced their artwork from $200 to $1000 to encourage support for the non profits.
Then get your groove on by dancing to the best of Donna Summer, Diana Ross, Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, and more.
