The Retreat’s All Against Abuse Gala returns on Saturday, June 6, from 6 to 9 PM at the Southampton Arts Center in Southampton Village. Every dollar raised helps The Retreat provide lifesaving services to survivors of domestic abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
This year, The Retreat celebrates the legacy of former Retreat Board President Gail Rothwell, whose dedication to The Retreat’s mission — and to the lives it touches — continues to inspire.
Gail was the former President of Nine West Footwear before channeling her entrepreneurial spirit into launching her own business. Her commitment to the community included founding an annual shopping benefit to support The Retreat and serving as President of its Board of Directors for many years. Through her dedication, she helped improve safety and offer hope for survivors.
Throughout the evening, guests will savor gourmet hors d’oeuvres and handcrafted cocktails by Art of Eating, and listen to a powerful story of hope and healing shared by a survivor who rebuilt her life after seeking safety at The Retreat. The evening will culminate in a live auction with Harry Santa-Olalla. The auction will include opportunities to bid on exclusive experiences, including an idyllic getaway for six to the Cotswolds in England, a chance to pick your French Chateau for 10, a private garden tour with legendary chef Ina Garten at her home, and a Bottega Veneta handbag.
New this year, The Retreat’s online silent auction has been extended by an extra day, giving supporters even more opportunity to bid on amazing items. From luxurious travel and hotel and spa getaways, to original artwork, bulb planting, museum memberships, and much more, there is something for everyone. Bidding opens Thursday, June 4, at noon and closes Monday, June 8, at 5 PM.
“There is no evening quite like this one,” said Cate Carbonaro, Esq., Executive Director of The Retreat. “Being surrounded by people who believe so passionately in the safety and dignity of survivors is something I will never take for granted. Over the past year and a half, I’ve witnessed firsthand the resilience of the survivors we serve and the extraordinary dedication of our community. Celebrating Gail’s legacy this evening reminds us that the work we do is bigger than any one of us, and that when we come together, real change is possible.”
