East Hampton Village’s Centennial Celebration

East Hampton Village held its Centennial celebration this past weekend, celebrating 100 years since the village was incorporated.

The festivities started on Friday, September 24, at Village Hall. East Hampton Village Mayor Jerry Larsen, the Board of Trustees, and the village’s religious leaders gave a blessing for the next hundred years and buried a time capsule which will be opened 100 years from now. There was later an historical discussion in Herrick Park with Juliana Lester, Hugh King, and friends.

On Friday night there was a Gala and Casino Night at The Maidstone Club. The party had a Roaring Twenties theme. All proceeds went to benefit the East Hampton Village Foundation.

On Saturday, September 25, there was a Children’s Fair in Herrick Park that included carousel, slides, and fun activities for children. A Centennial Parade was held on Main Street, followed by a music festival in Herrick Park.

On Sunday, September 26, there was a Classic Car Show with classic cars on display in Herrick Park. The weekend concluded with a Maidstone vs Bonackers softball game in Herrick Park. Proceeds went to benefit the Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center.
