Food Is Love Candle Raises Funds For Local Food Pantries

Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic the East End has seen an increase in those suffering from food insecurity, and local food pantries have experienced a greater need for food within the community.

Early on in the pandemic The Clamshell Foundation and East End Cares teamed up to start the Fund for Food, a campaign to raise funds for the East End’s local, volunteer run food pantries.

“Covid-19 has put many of our community members out of work, at risk and in need of our support,” reads the Clamshell Foundation’s website. “East End Cares & The Clamshell Foundation have joined forces to raise and deploy funds and volunteer support for our community.”

Recently, Hamptons Handpoured — a local candle producer on the East End, well known for its Signature Village Collection — has joined to help by creating the “Food Is Love” candle to support the Clamshell Foundation and East End Care’s initiative. One hundred percent of all profits from the candle will be donated to local food pantries.

The 8 oz scented candle includes notes of citrus, verbena, and arugula. They are created with American grown, clean-burning, natural soy, using plant-based fragrance oils and a cotton wick.

You can find the candle available for sale here.
