Great Art for a Great Cause

Some 90 of the finest artists on Long Island’s East End have again created memorable unique art boxes that will be auctioned to benefit East End Hospice. The Box Art Auction, a time-honored late summer tradition, benefits residents of the Town of East Hampton communities. This 22nd Box Art Auction will take place on Saturday, August 26th at Hoie Hall of St. Luke’s Church in East Hampton. Lucas Hunt, Auctioneer. Wine and hors d’oeuvres are included in the $100 benefit ticket price.

The boxes can be viewed online at www.eeh.org and previewed at St. Luke’s Church/ Hoie Hall on Wednesday August 23rd and Thursday, August 24th from 10am to 4pm.

A "Meet the Artists" Preview Reception is open to the community on Wednesday, August 23rd, from 5-7 pm.

The 2023 Spirit of Community Award will be presented at the Benefit to Kathleen King, an East End tradition as founder of Tate’s Bake Shop.

Ty Wenzel, a recent breast cancer survivor, started her career as a fashion coordinator for Bloomingdale’s followed by fashion editor for Cosmopolitan Magazine. She was also a writer for countless publications, including having published a memoir (St. Martin's Press) and written features for The New York Times. She is an award-winning writer and designer who covers lifestyle, real estate, architecture and interiors for James Lane Post. She previously worked as a writer and marketing director for The Independent. She has won multiple PCLI and NYPA awards for journalism, social media and design, including best website design and best magazine for James Lane Post, which she co-founded in 2020. Wenzel is also a co-founder of the meditation app for kids, DreamyKid, and the Hamptons social media agency, TWM Hamptons Social Media.
