On Sunday, August 10, the Southampton Playhouse hosted a rare IMAX screening of “Back to the Future” to celebrate the film’s 40th anniversary. Marty McFly himself, Michael J. Fox, joined the playhouse for a special post-screening conversation moderated by Southampton Playhouse Artistic Director Eric Kohn.
The post-screening conversation also touched on the impactful work of the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which has raised $2 billion so far, creating awareness for Parkinson’s. The end of the Q&A was met with a warm standing ovation.
The event is a part of the ’80s Blockbuster Essentials screening series at the Playhouse, a 3-film series featuring screenings of “The Terminator” with producer Gale Anne Hurd, and an IMAX screening of “E.T.: The Extraterrestrial.”
