EAST HAMPTON, NY, August 10, 2024, AB NY Gallery is pleased to present a debut solo exhibition of Peter Ngo (b. 1980 East Hampton, NY). Raised in East Hampton, Peter knew from an early age that he wanted to be involved with fashion and art. He began his journey in 2000 by being accepted to study at the acclaimed Ivy of Culture, FIT, Fashion Institute of Technology, and was further endorsed by the prestigious School of Visual Arts to pursue his creative practice. After completing both programs, he worked in New York for John Varvatos and Zegna, styling some of the top artists, musicians, models, taste makers and celebrities, while pursuing fashion photography and painting, a creative outlet that has continued to the present.

Through a singular focus and hard work, Ngo is now making his mark exhibiting at various galleries, including a solo at the legendary Elaine Benson Gallery that instantly put his work on the art map in 1998. With a tattoo artist work ethic, he spends hours perfecting his forms, which often feature ethereal, mythic women floating amongst a wide array of imagery like plants, animals, spatial astronomical bodies, and wind energy turbines. In the genre of art gods Edvard Munch, Genevieve Figgis, Alex Grey or Mati Klarwein, however inspired by his own photography, his fantasized figures seem to converse engaged in a beautifully arrange meadow of expressionistic gestures that separate from his finely rendered realism.
