Hamptons Dance Project Season VIII
The Hamptons Dance Project pairs premiere dancers from ballet and modern dance with master choreographers to present classical repertoire reimagined alongside innovative new works with a modern sensibility. Now in its 8th year, and again led by artistic director Jose Sebastian, this year’s series returns to the breathtaking outdoor venue known as Fireplace Lodge in Springs (or LTV Studios, in case of rain) on Aug. 7, 8, and 9 starting at 6 p.m.
Dancers for HDP Season VIII include ABT artists Sierra Armstrong, Aran Bell, Lauren Bonfiglio, Tristan Brosnan, Finnian Carmeci, Fangqi Li, Tyler Maloney, Sun Mi Park, Jose Sebastian, Hee Seo, Cory Stearns, Ingrid Thoms, and James Whiteside. Guest artists include Jared Alexander and Jenna Maslechko.
HDP VIII will feature ballets from returning choreographers Jorma Elo, Resident Choreographer, Boston Ballet; Justin Peck, Tony winner and Resident Choreographer, New York City Ballet; and two ballets from ABT Principal Dancer James Whiteside. New choreographers include ABT dancer Duncan Lyle and renowned American choreographer Lar Lubovitch. Guest tap artist Jared Alexander is returning for his third season. Singer and musician Rozzi will perform her song “Joshua Tree” to choreography by James Whiteside, and composer and pianist David Evans returns to accompany the ballet by Lar Lubovitch.
