Join East End Jazz and the Southampton History Museum for a special evening of music honoring America’s 250th anniversary. On Thursday, July 16, experience The Heart of America: Songs of Our Roots, an inspiring concert that explores the sounds that have shaped the American experience for generations.

Set against the historic backdrop of the Rogers Mansion grounds, this unique performance journeys through the rich traditions of Blues, Gospel, Hymns, and Country music, the musical foundations that continue to influence American culture today. Through imaginative jazz arrangements, these timeless songs are reimagined with fresh energy while preserving the stories and spirit that have resonated across generations.

Under the direction of acclaimed bassist and arranger Iris Ornig, East End Jazz presents a stellar quartet featuring Tomas Majcherski on tenor saxophone, clarinet, and flute; Alex Frondelli on guitar; Iris Ornig on bass; and Jon Mele on drums. Together, they will perform jazz-infused interpretations of beloved American classics including Oh, Susanna, Just a Closer Walk with Thee, When Johnny Comes Marching Home, Swing Low, Sweet Chariot, Michael, Row the Boat Ashore, and more.
