MONSTER SMASH: A Costumed Dance Party!

The Church
Organized by The Church

We did the MASH, we did the MONSTER SMASH! Calling all witches and warlocks on the East End, we invite you to ‘COME AS YOU AREN’T’ to The Church’s annual fall fundraiser, MONSTER SMASH, a Halloween dance party. The evening returns in a slightly pared-down but still spooky fashion. Join us on the dance floor with music from the one and only MISTER LAMA, whose 70s/80s hits you’ve boogied to at The Church before. Enjoy some light bites from a festive grazing table prepared by East Hampton Kitchen with beer and wine from your local favorites.

Costumes are strongly encouraged; this year’s theme is “The Sporting Life,” inspired by our summer exhibition Strike Fast, Dance Lightly: Artists on Boxing and our upcoming fall exhibition RE:CYCLE– The Ubiquitous Bike. Come as your favorite sports legend or perhaps even a depiction of sports in art, such as Andy Warhol’s “Muhammad Ali”, a Jeff Koon’s basketball, or one of Catherine Opie’s High School football players. Who knows who or what we’ll see this year? Only one way to find out!
