La Goulue Sur Mer French Brasserie Is Open In Southampton

La Goulue Sur Mer has opened in Southampton Village on Hampton Road, at the site of the former Red Bar and, most recently, Enchanté Bistro. It is the newest addition to the celebrated La Goulue restaurant family, which also has locations in New York City and Palm Beach. The venue is brought to the East End by co-owners Joseph DeCristofaro and Anthony Punnett, lifelong friends and Southampton Village natives.

DeCristofaro’s endeavors include the Old Stove Pub. Punnett is a former partner at Le Colonial in Los Angeles, where he worked alongside Jean Denoyer, the founder of the original La Goulue location and brand.

Drawing inspiration from its sibling venues, this outpost is intentionally more relaxed and aims to invite diners year-round to enjoy French fare. Guests can be seated in the lively dining room, outdoor patio, or the intimate lounge. The interior designs pay homage to classic brasserie style with bistro chairs circa 1950 sent from Paris, traditional oxblood leather banquettes and mustard-hued walls, warm Parisian chandelier lighting, and a polished brass rail bar that anchors the intimate space.

The menu features a mix of signature dishes from La Goulue’s Upper East Side and Palm Beach locations, along with new offerings unique to this location. You’ll find French brasserie classics like steak frites, salade d’endives au roquefort, and duck confit.

“We wanted to create something timeless and personal,” said DeCristofaro. “La Goulue Sur Mer is a love letter to the place we grew up and the classic restaurants we’ve always admired.”

“La Goulue has always been about charm, the finer things, and joie de vivre,” added Punnett. “This version just happens to have sand nearby.”
