The Big Christmas Show: A Musical Radio Play

THE BIG CHRISTMAS SHOW, A MUSICAL RADIO PLAY, conceived and written by Joe Landry and Michael Disher, celebrates the holidays and radio variety shows. When a star-studded variety broadcast starring Tallulah Bankhead, Groucho Marx, Ethel Merman and a host of other celebrities forces the WBFR radio staff and performers to rise to the proverbial occasion, an unexpected heartfelt harmony occurs on this Christmas Eve, 1950. The new play with holiday music, in its first workshop performance, embraces several well-known Christmas tales including The Gift of the Magi, Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas and some rare unexpected songs and stories. Michael Disher directs this event. Amanda Jones musically directs.

The cast includes Daniel Becker, Salli-Jo Borden, Susan Cincotta, Sue Conklin, Kieran Conlon, Vay David, Tim Ferris, Richard Gardini, Joey Giovingo, Tom Gregory, Amanda Jones, Tom Rosante, Michaal Lyn Schepps, Mary Sabo Scoponich, and John Seabury create the station staff who unite in spirit, belief and hope on this snowy Christmas Eve.

Complete your afternoon or evening with dinner at Plaza Cafe, a 3 course prix fixe either before or after the evening shows, 15% off at Southampton Publick House or a 25.00 brunch on Sunday, December 10th at Fellingham’s. Proof of ticket purchase required. Reservations must be made at the restaurant of choice.

Ty Wenzel

Ty Wenzel, a recent breast cancer survivor, started her career as a fashion coordinator for Bloomingdale’s followed by fashion editor for Cosmopolitan Magazine. She was also a writer for countless publications, including having published a memoir (St. Martin's Press) and written features for The New York Times. She is an award-winning writer and designer who covers lifestyle, real estate, architecture and interiors for James Lane Post. She previously worked as a writer and marketing director for The Independent. She has won multiple PCLI and NYPA awards for journalism, social media and design, including best website design and best magazine for James Lane Post, which she co-founded in 2020. Wenzel is also a co-founder of the meditation app for kids, DreamyKid, and the Hamptons social media agency, TWM Hamptons Social Media.
