Guild Hall (158 Main Street, East Hampton) is thrilled to announce the return of The Met Opera’s Live in HD. The 2024-2025 season features eight performances transmitted live from the Met Stage to Guild Hall’s newly renovated theater. Guests can now enjoy The Met: Live in HD performances in more comfortable seating surrounded by state-of-the-art technology for a truly immersive experience.
This season includes three new productions: the Met premiere of Grounded by Tony Award–winning composer Jeanine Tesori; Verdi’s Aida directed by Michael Mayer and starring American soprano Angel Blue; and Strauss’s Salome led by South African soprano Elza van den Heever in the title role and directed by Claus Guth. The series kicks off Saturday October 5 with Offenbach’s fantastical opera Les Contes d’Hoffmann. Additional season highlights include the return of once-in-a-generation Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen in Puccini’s Tosca and Beethoven’s Fidelio, and rising Russian mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina as Rosina in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
Tickets are $30 ($27 for members), and may be purchased online at guildhall.org. Sandwiches, snacks, and beverages will be available for purchase at Louise & Howie’s Coffee Bar in the Guild Hall lobby to be enjoyed in the theater during the programs.
