Hamptons Jazz Fest will begin its Winter Jazz Series.
The series starts with Gregory Lewis Organ Monk Trio on Friday, February 9, from 6 to 8 PM at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill.
This performance marks the record release of the trio’s sixth studio album, Organ Monk Going Home. Organ Monk is known for jazz and blues across various subgenres. Gregory Lewis is renowned for specializing in transforming the repertoire of Thelonious Monk for the Hammond organ.

Azar Lawrence Quintet will take the stage at Southampton Arts Center on Saturday, February 17, from 7 to 9 PM.
Lawrence is a musician who has recorded and written for luminaries such as Freddie Hubbard, Busta Rhymes, Roberta Flack, and Phyllis Hyman. His collaborations have included writing and performing on Earth Wind & Fire’s “Powerlight” and Marvin Gaye’s “Hear My Dear.” Azar’s band, The Azar Lawrence Experience (TALE), appears with as many as eight musicians who sizzle to the sounds of Lawrence’s powerful original compositions and a Coltrane standard here and there.
