LongHouse Reserve’s ‘Spirit of the Garden: Harvest’

On Saturday, November 19, East Hampton’s LongHouse Reserve celebrated Native American Heritage Month and the harvest season with its “Spirit of the Garden: Harvest” event.

Co-hosts Megan Chaskey and Scott Chaskey offered experiences for the families attending, including Megan performing her “Circle of Life Puppet Show,“ and Scott reading “Old Coyote Woman.” Visitors decorated a Mandala with seeds from the three basic life essentials — corn, beans, and squash. Dancers from the Shinnecock Nation performed Native dances to Medicine Songs.
