Mark Borghi in Sag Harbor will present “Serenity Now,” an exhibition featuring the work of Hayley Youngs. The show showcases twenty acrylic paintings on canvas that explore both natural and imagined worlds. Stylistically inspired by Fauvism, Psychedelia, Surrealism, and Visionary art traditions, the paintings reflect the universal desire to dream and create space for collective meditation, introspection, and re-orientation.
Youngs lives and works in Brooklyn and earned her BFA from Pratt Institute. In her work, she uses esoteric shapes and curvilinear motifs alongside bright color and symmetry to evoke a realm beyond the physical world. Her pieces often depict landscapes and fragments of nature from memories of her travels.
The exhibition will run from July 29 to August 11 and an opening artist reception will be held on July 30 from 5:30 to 8 PM.
