The South Fork Natural History Museum (SOFO) in Bridgehampton will host its 33rd Annual Summer Gala Benefit, Conserving Our Planet: The Future Starts Now, on August 6 from 6 to 10 PM. The event will benefit the museum’s educational and environmental programs and initiatives empowering families to be responsible stewards of our planet. It will be chaired by Anke and Jürgen Friedrich and Susan and David Rockefeller.
The benefit commemorates 33 years of SOFO’s leadership in nature and conservation education. It celebrates its growth since its founding in 1988 into an acclaimed state-of-the-art museum highly regarded for its exhibits and programs centering around environmental stewardship, climate change, sustainable energy, marine science, community outreach, and more.
The benefit ambassador is Liev Schreiber, American actor, director, screenwriter, producer, and narrator. The event will honor special guest Sylvia Earle, National Geographic Explorer, founder of Mission Blue, and oceanographer who has been at the forefront of protecting the ocean for the past 50 years. Other honorees include Jim Ash, Richard Grasso, Jeffery C. Keil, Greg Manocherian, and Carl Safina.
The event will kick off with a VIP cocktail reception from 6 to 7 PM, followed by the main reception including the honoree presentation, dinner, and dancing with DJ Danja from 7 to 10 PM. Food and beverages will be provided by local South Fork restaurants/vendors.
VIP Tickets are $1,400 and general admission tickets are $550. VIP tables range from $10,000 to $50,000 and sponsorship packages are available.
