Flor De Maria
Flor de Maria Rivera and her family migrated to America from her native Peru when she was a little girl. Growing up, she learned the details of her parents journey to this country. These stories gave her a “never be afraid to take a chance” outlook on life. She attended the University of San Diego and majored in media. After graduation, she became a sports anchor, reporter, producer, commentator and writer for multiple media outlets including Univision, Telemundo and much more. She worked her way up in the sports broadcasting arena to become one of the first women, not to mention a Latina woman, to become an on-air sports reporter in this very male dominated industry. Overcoming many obstacles, she eventually became one of the best in her field. Then, as she states, “I quit my job!”
She booked a flight to New York to start a new life as a shoe designer, a dream she’d had since she was a little girl. She attended Stanford University and went on to study shoe design in Italy. She attended one of Italy’s top design schools, Arsutoria. Upon completion, she launched her brand in October of 2019. Today, her shoes are now seen on the feet of Kylie Jenner, the first celeb to walk in her shoes, to others such as Jada Pinkett, Megan Foxx, Carrie Underwood, Brandy, Halle Bailey, Paris Hilton, Mickey Guyton, Thalia, Niecy Nash, Jenna Dewan, Ari Lennox, and Saweetie. @flordemariacollection
