The Hampton Ballet Theatre School, the classical training ground on the East End, celebrating 15 years of dance education, is excited to present its spring program of “The Littlest Mermaid,” “The Dance of the Hours,” and “Les Sylphides.” This production will premiere on Friday, May 3, at 7 PM, Saturday, May 4, at 1 PM. and 7 PM, and Sunday, May 5, at 2 PM at the Pierson High School Theater in Sag Harbor.
The ballet is choreographed by the director of HBTS, Sara Jo Strickland, and features beautiful costumes designed and hand-sewn by Yuka Silvera and Kate McManus and lighting designed by Sebastian Paczynski. Sharing the role of The Littlest Mermaid will be Lauren Rosario and Summer Lillie, while Leila Genender and Avery McCleland will dance the role of the evil Queen Merwitch. In “Les Sylphides,” Major Bovio, Shoshana Sobey, Catherine Porter, and Leila Genender will all dance featured roles, while the main pas de deux will be danced by Olivia Quinn and Avery McCleland, partnered by guest artist Nick Peregrino. In “The Dance of the Hours,” the principal role of Midnight will be performed by Leila Genender and Olivia Quinn, partnered by Nick Peregrino as the Man in the Moon.
Advance ticket prices range from $20 to $35, and day-of-performance ticket prices range from $25 to $40, depending on the designated section. Premium and orchestra seats are available at rates for both children (under 12 years of age) and adults. Group rates for all performances are available for groups consisting of 10 or more people.
