The White Room Gallery in Bridgehampton presents “Love Me Tender – Graffiti, Florals and Butterflies” with works by artist PunkMeTender. A live performance and reception will be held on Saturday, June 17, from 5 to 7 PM.
“Welcome to the world of vibrancy,” said Andrea McCafferty and Kat O’Neill, the gallery’s co-owners. “Beauty, spirit, and transformation are the major themes that come up in PunkMeTender’s art. His creations are fully instinctual, as in no rules. Butterflies have become the artist’s hallmark embodying freedom, wonder, and change but that is only part of his always evolving oeuvre.”
PunkMeTender is a Parisian street artist that came to Los Angeles to follow the American Dream. Growing up in France, he knew early on that he had to chase his passion. Right now, PunkMeTender is living the said dream in his studio at the heart of Hollywood.
Spin art is one of the techniques the artist uses to create his work, he says that this process is as transformative as the caterpillar turning to a butterfly. PunkMeTender is also known for his original photography, bold and bright colors and high-gloss embellishments like glittery Swarovski crystals, diamond dust, and glossy acrylic coatings.
“Artists need to keep making art to remind people of what freedom looks like. I think that’s the real role of any artist,” said PunkMeTender.
His work is exhibited in over 30 high-end galleries around the world and is sought after by international collectors and luxury hotel brands like Miami South Beach, SLS, Nobu and others. PunkMeTender often works with famous clients on their personal projects. A few include Khloé Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Kylie Jenner, Mariah Carey, and Dave Navarro.
