Tony Ingrao And Randy Kemper To Judge LongHouse Gardening Competition

LongHouse Reserve’s annual gardening competition, “PLANTERS: ON+OFF THE GROUND X,” will open on June 19.

Artists, horticulturists, designers, gardeners, and landscapers will let their imaginations run wild and create their best garden masterpieces that go far beyond a clay pot. The only restriction: their creation must be contained to 25 square feet.

From 4:30 PM guests will cast their ballots for the People’s Choice Award and at 6 PM attend a celebratory presentation for the winners, judged by interior designers Tony Ingrao and Randy Kemper of Ingrao Inc. Guests can enjoy the creative displays with cocktails, music, and friendly faces. Planters will remain on view to the public through July 31.

The 10th edition is led by Garden Committee Chair Alex Feleppa and LongHouse Reserve Horticulturist Holger Winenga.

Judges Ingrao and Kemper are internationally known for their unique approach to style; designing for the world’s most influential people and spaces, including Jack Welch and Donny Deutsch, as well as New York City’s Baccarat Residences, Campbell Bar in Grand Central Station, and the interiors of 35 Hudson Yards. The design duo are locals. Their East Hampton residence, known as Woodhouse Park, boasts five-acres of sprawling grounds.

Past winners include Gardens by Romi, Hamptons Grass and Bamboo, Landcraft Environments, Geoffrey Nimmer Landscapes, and Piazza Horticultural.
