Sag Harbor had a Caribbean feel to it this August as government officials and dignitaries of the Island Nation of Antigua & Barbuda came to town to celebrate the 14th Annual Antigua Barbuda Hamptons Challenge and Awards Party to benefit local non-profit i-tri.
More than 20 sailboats from Sag Harbor, East Hampton, Shelter Island, and the North Fork participated in the Regatta. Early forecasts of high winds and even a fear of cancelation from Tropical Storm Debbie turned into low winds, making the race more challenging and technical. Trophies were awarded in 3 divisions: Spinnaker 1, Spinnaker 2, and PHRF Non-Spinnaker.
