ARF To Host Benefit Auction Of Treasures For The Home

The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons will host an online auction and preview cocktail party to raise money for the cats and dogs at the ARF Adoption Center in East Hampton.

The benefit designer auction, chaired by ARF Board members Lisa McCarthy, Alex Papachristidis, and Katharine Rayner, will kick off with a Preview Cocktail Party on Saturday, May 28, from 6 to 8 PM at the ARF Thrift & Treasure Shop in Sagaponack. The online auction will take place from May 28 through June 7 and feature furniture and decorative items for the home donated by longstanding friends and ARF supporters, including some of the most admired designers, artisans, and dealers in the country. 

For many years, ARF has hosted a kick-off to the summer season at the ARF Thrift Shop in Sagaponack, as the shop raises critical funds ARF’s rescue and adoption efforts. 200 guests from the design world and the Hampton social community are expected to attend the preview cocktail party. Guests will enjoy wine donated by Kontokosta Winery and hors d’oeuvres as they get the first look at the auction items and shop exclusive merchandise. 

The evening will also showcase beautifully arranged tablescapes, featuring handpicked décor by top designers and tastemakers including David Monn, Everyday Elegance, Cathy Kincaid, Kim Seybert, Katharine Rayner and other surprise designers. This exclusive shopping opportunity, which will only be available at Saturday night’s cocktail party, will include everything for your table from linens to dinnerware. 

 ARF Board Member Alex Papachristidis of Alex Papachristidis Interiors and Everyday Elegance explained, “ARF’s extended family of friends and supporters have come together to bring beautiful and unique pieces of custom furniture, art, and antiques together for a single sale. ARF is an incredible charity, rescuing and nurturing the lives of animals from all over the country and parts of the world.” 

The wide array of items include a Mario Bellini dining table donated by Peter Marino and Jane Trapnell, a Bill Tansey framed poppies photograph donated by Bill Tansey, a dog-bone-shaped bench by John Dickerson donated by Liz O’Brien, and a Late Louis XVI Giltwood barometer (adapted, signed “Selon Torricelli”) donated by David Netto. 

All items raise money for the cats and dogs at the ARF Adoption Center in East Hampton. Bidders will have the chance to make offers online from May 28 until June 7 by visiting give.arfhamptons.org/arfauction. 

Tickets for the preview cocktail party are available for $200 online at give.arfhamptons.org/arfauction and at the door on May 28 for $225.
