Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center presents Poetry & Jazz on Thursday, June 22, at 7 PM.
The event will feature NAACP Image Award Nominee Yesenia Montilla, the author of “Muse Found in a Colonized Body,” and will be followed by a book signing. There will be a jazz performance by Dr. Gregson Pigott.
“It’s of urgent importance that our young people are exposed to the amazing range of artists and cultural workers addressing the most pressing questions in our lives today. We know that art offers a particular capacity to inspire connection, communication, and action. It is so important for our youth to hear different articulations on the complex subject of identity. The Center does everything we can to educate, enrich, and inspire our kids, teens, families, and our entire community,” said Bonnie Cannon, Executive Director, BHCCRC.
