Jacqueline Weld, the longtime chairman of the Casita Maria Center for Arts and Education, hosted Christmas carols with friends and family with the children’s choir of the Casita Maria Center for Arts and Education at her Park Avenue residence.
In what has become an annual event, the children gathered around a Christmas tree, where their gifts were waiting, before sharing a holiday dinner. Led by Casita Maria Music Director Connor Holland, the carolers performed “Jingle Bells,” “O Tannenbaum,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” along with a community favorite, “Casita María Está de Fiesta,” a finale of “Feliz Navidad,” led by Casita Maria Executive Director Felix Urrutia.
Guests included Casita Maria Board Members and Trustees George Corton, Michele Gerber Klein, Ben Rodriguez-Cubeñas, Sissi Fleitas, Patrick Moran, and Michael L. Ziegler, and Jackie’s sisters Martha Bograd and Mercedes Levin, as well as friends Steven Aronson, Halim Bulos, Suzi Cordish, Sharon King Hoge, Michael Hughes, Margo Langenberg, Bob Morris, Victor Roquette, Marc Rosen, Kathy and Harvey Sloan, and Casey Steadman.
Casita Maria, the oldest Latin charity in New York City, provides arts education to over 1,000 students daily. Located in the South Bronx, the center creates a community for youth and families, fostering growth and empowering individuals to achieve their goals.
