On Saturday, October 11, CMEE — the Children’s Museum of the East End — celebrated two decades of connection, play, tradition, and impact on the East End with a special Birthday Bash. What began as a simple idea with eight moms who dreamt of a place where children could learn through play became a reality in 2005 with a mission to spark imagination and foster learning for children of all backgrounds and abilities.
Since 2005, CMEE has welcomed over one million guests to play in its exhibits and at events, fed over 25,000 people through its food pantry and more during education programs, served over 1,000 students through its tutoring and mentorship programs, seen 160 children graduate from its Head Start classroom, hosted dozens of free birthday parties for kids in need, and opened a brand new 9,000 sq foot state-of-the-art playground.
