East Hampton’s Hello Oma Reopens After Hiatus

After a six-month hiatus, Hello Oma, a coffee and bake shop in East Hampton, will reopen its doors to the public. In February 2022, owner Kristofer Kalas closed Hello Oma to help with humanitarian efforts in the Ukraine. Located on 27 Race Lane, the shop officially reopened on August 6.

Kalas originally opened Hello Oma in July 2019 as a part café, part market. He has a background as a private chef, master baker, and chocolatier, and grew up in East Hampton. Kalas attended the elementary school across the street from what is now Hello Oma’s location and has fond memories of admiring the space when he was younger.

Hello Oma offers specialty coffee, fresh pressed juices, baked goods, and more. The shop has an outdoor seating area located in the back within a quaint garden providing a relaxing, communal atmosphere for guests. Hello Oma is open daily from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
