The Hampton Ballet Theatre School presents its fifteenth annual production of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s beloved Nutcracker. The performances will be staged Friday, December 13, at 7 PM, Saturday, December 14, at 1 PM and 7 PM, and Sunday, December 15, at 2 PM at Guild Hall in East Hampton.
The ballet is choreographed by the director of HBTS, Sara Jo Strickland. The performance features beautiful costumes designed and hand-sewn by Yuka Silvera, Sara Jo Strickland, and Kate McManus. The lighting design is by Sebastian Paczynski. HBTS’ Pro Students Major Bovio, Leila Genender, Summer Lillie, Olivia Quinn, Shoshana Sobey, Avery McCleland, and Lauren Rosario will all dance featured roles with special guest artists James Monroe Stevko as the Cavalier, Nick Peregrino as the Snow King and Arabian Prince, Amar Smalls as Harlequin and Dew Drop Prince and Malik Berry as Arabian Prince and Dew Drop Prince.
Hampton Ballet Theatre School’s Nutcracker will enchant those of all ages. The students of HBTS transport the audience to a land where angels, snowflakes, and flowers dance while Clara saves the Nutcracker Prince from the evil Mouse King. The Nutcracker conjures holiday cheer for all while celebrating in the Land of Sweets.
