En Plein Air With Howard Rose At The Corwith House
Artist and teacher Howard Rose will be leading a series of Plein Air Painting Classes for this summer with the Bridgehampton Museum. Plein Air painting has a lengthy history on the East End of Long Island with artists like William Merritt Chase. These classes are for artists of all abilities from beginners to professionals and will take place at a series of beautiful locations within the Bridgehampton area. Join us to get hands on with some history!
Built c. 1825 for William Corwith, this 19th century farmhouse is the historic home of the Bridgehampton Museum. Its exhibits highlight the agricultural history of Bridgehampton and is home to various outdoor programs throughout the year.
At the culmination of this program, The Bridgehampton Museum will be hosting an exhibition of works done by students in this class. Each student will be able to submit one piece they worked on during one of the classes to be part of the exhibition which will be on view in the museum this fall.
