French-Canadian trumpeter Rachevl Therrien has established herself as one of the most innovative voices working at the crossroads of jazz and world music. This Latin Jazz Project is the fruit of her graduate studies at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, her numerous musical experiences in Latin America and the Caribbean, and her 20 years of collaboration with the Latin jazz community in Montreal, New York and Toronto. As part of this exceptional group, she offers a refined repertoire that includes original pieces and her arrangements of the great Afro-Latin jazz classics. From salsa to danza, from rumba to chachacha, Rachel and her virtuoso accomplices will bring you to dance with their unique and original music tinged with influences from Cuba, New York and Colombia, among others. A show full of color... and heat!

This concert was organized by Iris Ornig, founder of East End Jazz.

As always, concert audience members are encouraged to bring a beach chair, a picnic and enjoy the evening (or afternoon)! All events are free, but space and parking are limited, so please arrive early, and be considerate of our neighbors.

Ty Wenzel, a recent breast cancer survivor, started her career as a fashion coordinator for Bloomingdale’s followed by fashion editor for Cosmopolitan Magazine. She was also a writer for countless publications, including having published a memoir (St. Martin's Press) and written features for The New York Times. She is an award-winning writer and designer who covers lifestyle, real estate, architecture and interiors for James Lane Post. She previously worked as a writer and marketing director for The Independent. She has won multiple PCLI and NYPA awards for journalism, social media and design, including best website design and best magazine for James Lane Post, which she co-founded in 2020. Wenzel is also a co-founder of the meditation app for kids, DreamyKid, and the Hamptons social media agency, TWM Hamptons Social Media.
