The Arts Center at Duck Creek is pleased to present the Kazemde George Trio on Thursday, July 31 at 6 PM, as part of our 2025 New Music Series, curated by Peter Watrous.

Kazemde George is a Brooklyn-based jazz saxophonist, composer, educator, and beat-maker known for his emotionally direct melodies, warm tone, and thoughtful restraint. Raised in Berkeley, California by Caribbean parents, Kazemde was immersed in diverse musical traditions and began playing piano, saxophone, and percussion at an early age.

He completed the Harvard/New England Conservatory Joint Program, earning a BA in Neurobiology (Harvard) and an MA in Jazz Composition (NEC). In 2012, he was awarded Harvard’s George Peabody Gardener Fellowship to study traditional music in Havana, Cuba.

Kazemde’s debut album, I I nsi st , was released on Greenleaf Music (Dave Douglas) in October 2021. His sophomore album is expected in 2026 on La Reserve Records. He has performed with artists such as Solange Knowles, David Murray, Jason Moran, and Ethan Iverson, at venues and festivals including Dizzy's Club, The Jazz Gallery, Yoshi’s, Lincoln Center, Panama Jazz Festival, AfroPunk, and more.
