Schinkel Fine Art Debuts at Hamptons Fine Art Fair
A new genre of art will be presented at Hamptons Fine Art Fair. Award-winning Detroit mother-son artist duo Linda and Teddy Schinkel, represented by Schinkel Fine Art (https://schinkelfineart.com/), will show their trademarked mixed media 2D sculptures at the Hamptons Fine Art Fair in Southampton, New York, July 13-16. The prestigious four-day event features more than 800 artists ranging from emerging to world-renowned.
Four types of Schinkel Fine Art will be on display and for sale at the Hamptons Fine Art Fair, including the duo’s flagship mixed medium sculpture Metalagram®.
A portmanteau of “metal” and “hologram,” Metalagram® is a fusion of digital art and metal work. Starting with a sheet of aluminum as their base, Rodney and Schinkel overlay digital art and apply effects to the metal such as sanding, etching, and distressing. Another type of sculpture, Metalamirror™, builds on the Metalagram® physical base and concept with an additional layer of handmade silver mirror. There’s also Metalamix™, a mix of 2D metal sculpture, dynamic lighting with digital imagery or video still, and Metalamix™ NFT, a combination of analog and digital art comprised of 2D metal sculpture, dynamic lighting, and digital imagery.
The duo’s multi-media, multi-sensory art fuses visual art and metal work, creating pieces that give a futuristic twist and multi-dimensional perspective to traditional forms. Their sculptures convey ideas of multiverses, reality’s hidden parts, and unlocking potential.
