The Arts Center At Duck Creek Music Series Presents Devon Gates: Large Ensemble On July 30
The Arts Center at Duck Creek (https://www.duckcreekarts.org/) will continue their 2026 Music Series with the Devon Gates: Large Ensemble on Thursday, July 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a rain date of July 31. The evening will feature Devon Gates on Bass and Vocals, Lee Fish on Drums, Marta Sanchez on Keyboard, Matt Greenwood on Electric Guitar, Veronica Leahy on Woodwinds, as well as the Formas Quartet of Brian Urra on Violin 1, special guest Alyssa Chetrick on Violin 2, Sarah Zahoridni on Viola and Peter Sumner on Cello. Band members Lee Fish and Marta Sanchez are Duck Creek Music Series Alumni!
Bridging the worlds of contemporary jazz, folk, and soul, Devon’s music is described by friends as a “warm hug,” embracing the listener and bringing them into a dreamlike journey they won’t soon forget.
Devon Gates is a Brooklyn-based bassist, vocalist, and composer whose work weaves together jazz, chamber music, and social storytelling. With a focus on sparking intimate musical connection between artist and audience, Gates presents lush arrangements for her wide-ranging compositions and arrangements for nonet – jazz rhythm section (electric guitar, piano, bass, drums) plus the Boston-based Formas String Quartet, and woodwinds.
