The Elephant Man: A Most Curious Staging at LTV Studios

LTV Studios 75 Industrial Road, Wainscott, NY, USA

Based on the true story of Joseph Merrick, “The Elephant Man” is a powerful and deeply moving exploration of humanity, dignity, and the meaning of beauty.

In Victorian London, surgeon Frederick Treves discovers Merrick, a severely disfigured young man being exhibited as a sideshow attraction. What begins as medical curiosity develops into an extraordinary relationship that challenges how society defines normality, compassion, and humanity. Through moments of tenderness, cruelty, humor, and profound vulnerability, The Elephant Man asks a timeless question…What does it truly mean to be human? A haunting and beautiful theatrical experience about seeing beyond the surface…and recognizing the person within.

Presented by the Mirror & Masque Theatre Co. in association with Playwrights’ Theatre of East Hampton at LTV Studios, this production promises a most curious and affecting staging for audiences 18+ up (age requirement strictly enforced due to moments of nudity onstage).
