The World Of Guitar Jazz Jam
“The World of Jazz Guitar” Community Jazz Jam Session Presented by East End Jazz
East End Jazz, in collaboration with the Southampton Cultural Center, invites the community to “The World of Jazz Guitar,” the second event in its monthly community jazz jam session series. The free performance and open jam session will take place on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Southampton Cultural Center, located at 25 Pond Lane, Southampton, NY.
“The World of Jazz Guitar” celebrates the instrument’s rich legacy across genres, featuring styles ranging from swing and bebop to bossa nova, bluegrass, and soul-jazz. The afternoon will highlight performances by guest guitarists well known throughout the Hamptons—Peter Watrous, Jack Marshall, Steve Shaughnessy, and Marcelo Pimenta—backed by the East End Jazz house rhythm section. Following the featured sets, guest instrumentalists and vocalists of all generations and skill levels are invited to sit in and perform with the band.
“Our goal with these monthly sessions is to create a welcoming community space where local musicians, students, and music lovers can connect, collaborate, and share the stage. I am deeply passionate about encouraging young musicians to participate and step up on stage,” said Iris Ornig, Director of East End Jazz. “Whether you bring an instrument, step up to the microphone, or come to listen, everyone is welcome.”
