In celebration of the upcoming 30th anniversary of the Hamptons International Film Festival in October, HamptonsFilm will be hosting a series of exclusive summer celebrations, including dinners, cocktail parties, screenings, and talks with hosts and guests.
The event series kicked off on July 1 with an exclusive drive-in screening of the 2022 Sundance Audience Award winning film “Cha Cha Real Smooth” starring Dakota Johnson. The event was hosted by Stuart Suna with filmmaker and star Cooper Raiff as a special guest.
On July 8 at 6 PM, HIFF will host a cocktail party with activist/rapper and subject of award-winning documentary “Sonita” Sonita Alizadeh. Hosted by Jane Wenner and Taylor Barton, the night features a conversation with Alizadeh and actor and board member Bob Balaban.
On July 15 at 6:30 PM, Myrna and John Daniels will host a dinner at a private residence with Barry Avrich and a screening of a sneak peek of his upcoming documentary “The Talented Mr. Rosenberg.”
On July 16 at 7 PM, Patti Kenner will host dinner and a conversation with social entrepreneur, filmmaker, and author Steve Apkon whose film, “Disturbing The Peace” was the winner of HIFF’S Conflict & Resolution Award in 2016.
On July 23 at 5 PM, Kim Brizzolara will host a screening of “Navalny,” a documentary about imprisoned Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. Following the screening, there will be a conversation between Director Daniel Roher and Alec Baldwin.
On August 4 at noon, Cristina Cuomo will host a ladies luncheon to celebrate Women in Film at a private residence. This event also features a curated shopping and wellness experience.
On August 18 at 6 PM, Debi and Steve Wisch will host a cocktail party to unveil HIFF’s 30th anniversary poster with artist Stanley Whitney and special guests John Alexander, Bruce Weber, Eric Fischi, Toni Ross, Cindy Sherman, and Bastienne Schmidt.
On Monday August 22 at 4 PM, Kingfisher Vintage Yacht will host a sailing event on Gardiner’s Bay. Guests are invited to board Kingfisher, a 50-foot vintage motor yacht, where founder of Defending H20 Kevin McAllister will showcase how we are working to save our waters.
The HIFF Summer 30 Event Series will conclude on October 8 at 7:30 PM with the Southampton Opening Film and After Party during the 30th Anniversary Hamptons International Film Festival. The event will be hosted by Randy Mastro and Jonine Bernstein.
