HamptonsFilm “Now Showing” series continues this week with Film Movement’s “Mayor,” directed by David Osit.
The film is a real-life political saga that follows Musa Hadid, the Christian mayor of Ramallah, throughout his second term in office.
The film shows Hadid’s goals to attract more tourism, repave the sidewalks, and plan the city’s Christmas celebrations. His ultimate mission is to end the occupation of Palestine.
The film’s synopsis states that it offers “a portrait of dignity amidst the madness and absurdity of endless occupation while posing a question: how do you run a city when you don’t have a country?”
The film is available for purchase, to be watched privately in the HamptonsFilm Virtual Screening Room, January 22 through January 28.
