LTV Presents FONE FILM FESTIVAL

Local TV, Inc. (LTV) will launch its LTV FONE FILM FESTIVAL, a new program that focuses on the creativity of young people and the use of their Smartphone.

Beginning on June 1, LTV is accepting short film submissions that have been filmed on a Smartphone by people 18 years old or younger. Submissions will be accepted until November 1 and will be aired in a film festival marathon on LTV’s channel 20 on December 20. The films will then continually be aired throughout the year after the premiere.

“The smartphone has revolutionized the way we create films. Sometimes the creativity happens on a moment’s notice and most people have the tool in their pocket to start the process,” said Michael Clark, the Executive Director at LTV. “The best part is that it is second nature for today’s youth. We thought we could help the young filmmaker by giving them visibility, support, and a place to display their work.”

The films must be 15 minutes or less and full details of the requirements are on the LTV website at www.ltveh.org/fonefilmfestival.

“We are now seeking out sponsors and supporters so that we can give these budding Spielbergs the recognition they deserve,” Clark said. “This program is still in the infancy stage and will grow as we go. What we need first is to engage our youth in this fun project. Community involvement is the key to its success.”
