Organización Latino Americana of Eastern Long Island (OLA) has been chosen as the New York State Project HOPE provider for the entire East End of Long Island.
Through the FEMA funded program, OLA has hired two teams of crisis counselors to listen to and support the needs of residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“OLA has hired Crisis Counselors to represent a wide range of our community, including Shinnecock, African American, White Anglo, and Latino,” read a statement from OLA.
“Whether you speak Spanish, English, or Portuguese, our counselors are available to
help you cope with difficult emotions and provide trusted resource referrals,” the statement continued.
To be connected with a crisis counselor and receive free, confidential, and anonymous support, call or text our Project HOPE helpline: 631-500-0837.
