On Friday, July 14 and Saturday July 15, the Parrish Art Museum celebrates its 125th Anniversary year with Midsummer Magic. The annual celebration comprises two highly anticipated events of the Hamptons summer season that bring together artists, art collectors, curators, philanthropists, and business leaders from the Hamptons, New York City, and beyond.
The weekend features the Midsummer Dance with beats by br0nz3_g0dd3ss and special performance by Narcissister on Friday, and the Midsummer Dinner on Saturday with cocktails, seated dinner, live auction, and dancing with DJ M.O.S. Artists in attendance at the dinner include Alice Aycock, Nanette Carter, Jeremy Dennis, Joanne Greenbaum, Mel Kendrick, Claude Lawrence, Alix Pearlstein, Ugo Rondinone, Leslee Stradford, John Torreano, and Nina Yankowitz.
Honorees at this year’s Dinner are Katharina Otto-Bernstein, Fred and Robin Seegal, plus artists Eddie Martinez, Sam Moyer, and Hank Willis Thomas — all of whom have work on view in the landmark exhibition Artists Choose Parrish. In celebration of the Museum’s milestone year, the event is augmented by a list of legacy honorees Fiona and Stanley Druckenmiller, Beth Rudin DeWoody, Gale and Ira Drukier, Charlotte Moss and Barry Friedberg, Herzog & de Meuron, Anke Jackson, Chad Leat, Alicia G. Longwell, Liliane Peck, Lisa Perry, Michèle and Steven Pesner, and Robert Lehman Foundation. Funds raised at the event support the Museum’s exhibitions, education initiatives, and programs.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore the Museum-wide exhibition “Artists Choose Parrish, Part I” in the galleries, and JR’s “Les Enfants d’Ouranos,” a 200-foot, site-specific installation on the south façade.
