Parrish Art Museum Presents Spring Fling

The Parrish Art Museum presents Spring Fling, the annual community celebration, fundraiser, and networking event, on Saturday, April 30, from 7:30 to 11 PM at the museum.

Featuring dancing to music by DJ Marc Bauman, a silent auction, delicacies catered by Elegant Affairs, and open bar, Spring Fling helps support the Parrish’s year-round educational programs for children and adults.

Activities throughout the museum include dancing in the Lichtenstein Theater, bidding on the silent auction in the lobby, enjoying passed hors d’oeuvres and small tasting plates in the lobby and theater, and exploring exhibitions in the Parrish galleries.

The silent auction offers unique goods and services donated by the East End business and professional community, including luxury handbags and designer accessories, gift certificates to local restaurants and businesses, decorative items and art works by artists and artisans, plus an array of unique spa, sport, and educational experiences on the East End.

Guests at Spring Fling are invited to experience the Museum’s new exhibition, “An Art of Changes: Jasper Johns Prints, 1960 – 2018.” An illuminating survey of the seminal artist’s six-decade printmaking practice, it follows Johns through the years as he revises and recycles key motifs — including the American flag, numerals, and the alphabet — through more than 90 works.

A Parrish tradition for nearly three decades, Spring Fling raises over $100,000 annually for education programs, including Access Parrish, which offers learning experiences specifically designed for youth and adults with varied needs and abilities, including children on the autism spectrum, and individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia, or Parkinson’s Disease, and their care partners. The event also supports year-round school collaborations, tours, studio activities, programs developed with regional educators, after school art workshops, school vacation programs, weekly open studios for families and teens, bi-lingual family tours, and the annual Student Exhibition.

The 2022 Spring Fling Committee includes Co-Chair Maryanne Horwath, Co-Chair Laura Wynne, Phylis Biondo, Fran Girimonti, Aleksandra Kardwell, Paulina Keszler, Linda Kouzoujian, MAGO-Enrique J. Martinez, Alexis Mayer, Patty Oakley, Garrett Pike, and Mary Slattery.

Tickets are $225 each, and advance purchase is recommended and can be made online at parrishart.org/spring-fling-2022 or by contacting the Benefit Events office at 631-283-2118 x167, or benefitevents@parrishart.org.
